Quite often that's the case, not always. If there's a large scale cold air mass it seems that we experience the effects two or three weeks ahead of Europe. Once it stabilizes, there's not a great deal of difference. But yes, we've seen this phenomenon may times in the past.

Barrie it seems to happen with extremes , extreme cold or heat.
