I de-potted mine a short while ago just to be nosy on the off chance of finding any new roots that may of grown and there were plenty, plus the big old roots from last year looking in good tact. I don't have any movement from it yet though and haven't since the growing season last year to be honest.. but with the new roots that have emerged i just may see some soon.
Has anyone checked there's yet?
Anybody checked there 'Montbeliardii''s for roots growth?

Mine have been growing all winter. I repotted them a couple of weeks ago and saw some nice new roots along with some dead ones (too much watering).

Mine is sitting bare root in a fleece bag. Daren't pot it yet or it may outgrow the space before spring arrives.
Best regards

I can see your point dave, your is a monster! mine has been potted in compost and perlite all winter but no growth has started as of yet! just the new root growth so it is slowly waking up.
Re: Anybody checked there Ensete ventricosum 'Montbeliardii'
Mine is potted up and has recently started to push out new leaves so just started to water it lightly.

Mine are starting to move a bit, i started to water them a bit once a week from the bottom.

Mine is still very active being grown on at my local school. The classroom is always warm, even at night. It's opened two new leaves since taking it there in early December.
This gets watered once a fortnight and is thoroughly potbound with a lot of roots showing out of the bottom of the pot. The corner where it's placed has two large windows but this end of the building faces north so there is no sunshine. I'm surprised that the leaves aren't drawn and pale. The growth looks almost of summer quality.
I shall be bringing this home for half term to repot it. I have a sunny window in which to put it when it returns to acclimatize it in stronger light.
