Am just concerned about two larger trachies that were planted in the summer. Alot of the fronds look like they will brown off, hopefully the spears will be fine, i will treat with chesnut compound this week to see off possible rot. Hope everyone is not too bad hit :!:

Chestnut Compound has now been banned :(

I think it was banned last year as was green sulphur for dusting bulbs before stored. (But at least sulphur is still available). Chestnut compound isn't.

Just been outside and some of the trachies planted in the summer look like they have been badly damaged, time will tell in the next few weeks. Have just treated all with fungicide solution and hopefully the spears will be good.

I think, technically, not "banned" but not had the new style "license" issued - 'coz no one, without a patent, want's to pay for the process.

Thus I have no idea whether it is dangerous, or not. If it had been "banned" then I would not use it. "No one has stumped up for license under new legislation" suggests to me that there is vested interest to get us to buy new fangled, less track-record, less understood, more chemically-complex compounds instead.
