T.Rex flower
T.Rex flower
My rex looks like it is getting ready to flower, the leaves have gone tiny and stopped and the growing point is swelling up into a bud.
been disapointed that it is happening since there is no benefit to it happening over here.
what do most people do with it when it does this?
i just want it back growing its single trunk straight up like it has the past two years.

Re: T.Rex flower
My big one is doing the same, which is the first time. Last time I had a flower spike was in 2009 and it didn't get to opening the flowers before the frosts zapped it. However.... when I had one flower before it was the Cornish Grooved and the terminal leaves just gave way to flower buds. On yours, and on my Monster, it seems the terminal bud has split in two, with one part looking like a flower bud, and the second part looking like it will continue to throw up leaves.
Will be interesting to see how they develop.
