My cannas are still not through soil level but they are still alive in the pots, I don't think I will get my cannas to flower this year.

Nice, Australia is a lovely Canna.

A word of warning though, as Canna hybrids go, it's relatively slow and difficult to overwinter, or so I found.

What a great buy at £1.99, when ever I have seen them for sale at my local garden centres they have been about £5.00.

I got 3 @ £4 each local-ish, I'm fairly sure they're a tenner at the local GC.

I would buy 10 if they were £1.99 but there is a big difference between 10 for £20 and 10 for £100.

Panama Pete were did you get the canna australia from and how much as I have been wanting one and yours look nice and healthy and more important "virus free" and you do not live too far away from me so if you got them from somewhere local it should not be too out of the question for me to pay them a visit, thanks.

Word of warning on these. they look like the same type i bought from my local GC last week. Although the tag says "Australia" the pot noted "Black night" and i think thats what they are. I have some young Australia as well and theres a big difference in colour ( the young Australia have totally dark purple leaves where as the Black night appear to fade down the leaf veins and show shades of green)

I hope both ours turn out to be Australia but i dont hold much hope atm

Looking at your pic Jezza I would say that the Canna isn't Australia. Australia has a smoother leaf and is much darker in colour
