Pallet of trachys from hardy palms, two ten foot cordys, laurel hedge, succulents, trip to urban jungle...
Oh dear far too much.
I need to do my hard landscaping (paving, raised beds etc) but keep spending my money on plants.
Neil

Re: Not many big purchases this year?
For me nothing mega just too many small ones.
My constraint is space, the garden is full all summer and the house all winter.
Am sorry to hear your news Dave, that's a miserable situation, been there myself but its far better to only have what you can afford at the time. Credit card interest rates are just evil.

Re: Not many big purchases this year?
I did buy two large Phoenix canariensis_CIDP from crews in their january 50% off sale for the handsome sum of £25. Growing like mad now.
Re: Not many big purchases this year?
Awe, sorry Dave!At least you have a job jezza, mine has just gone to China
Plants I have were bought last year. Bought only slug pellets and Pravado, also the odd Alpine this year.
Sown Calaendula (great show) , and bought other seeds.
Re: Not many big purchases this year?
That's a bummer Dave. Been there myself except mine went to India. What line of work are you in?At least you have a job jezza, mine has just gone to China
Re: Not many big purchases this year?
I never splash out on big plants cos I'm too mean Just wanted to say sorry about your job Dave. Moving abroad would only be warmer as the job situation, here at least, is non exsistent. To give you an idea - a new Ikea is opening soon near me and for the 200 odd jobs available there are over 28,000 applicants.
Re: Not many big purchases this year?
I've spent about £2000 this year & I thought i'd had a cheap year so far!!, i'm about done this year now & hopefully next year I project about £350 being spent on adding more colour to the garden's. karl.
Re: Not many big purchases this year?
