mine just seems to spread outwards rather than upwards, in that video the height is massive in one season, could i be mine is planted near to a elderberry tree to the left.. that stops it shooting upwards.. and more outwards for the light...
my t rex is around 5/6 years old now.
any thoughts ive been thinking about removing the elderberry, it just provides a screen from next door.

yep that was my main concern, but i just checked i ordered it back in 2009
TETRAPANAX PAPYRIFER 'REX', 10ltr - £35.00 ,from amulree. so im pretty sure its a rex.
so its not at old as i thought but been in there a good few years. i mulch it like madly and use chicken pellets.
its got quite a stem on it , maybe it surprise me next year

yea will do, i also have a canna, its the first time ive grown it, but it got really big and tall but never flowered..... am i right in thinking the first yr of canna's dont always flower. come to think of it, i never fed it though...
