It forms a rugged trunk and a large crown of leaves of finely pinnate, leathery, underside silvery leaves. It is native to Bolivia and grows in the dry and dusty high valleys of the Andes at altitudes over 3,000 meters above sea level. In 3 days I've gone through the whole blog looking at the photos and reading bits here and there. Beautiful garden, plenty to see and despite all the new projects the rest is so well cared for. I like the way you did the wall without actually cementing it in place. I see you have altered it a little has it kept its place without being cemented? I'd like to make a raised bed as natural looking a possible but if I used cement I'd have to have permission & probably have to pay our equivalent of council tax on it.
