Flower buds.
Re: Tetrapanax
mine produces flower buds at the end of each year at the end of each growing tip so I suspect its just a side shoot
Re: Tetrapanax
Rather early? or are you thinking left over from last year?Yorkshire Kris wrote:Flower buds.
Or some side effect of the mild winter?
The "flowers" on mine have lasted all winter. I wonder if I ought to look out for seeds, or maybe they have already dropped.
Re: Tetrapanax
It just looked strange at first .The mild weather made me think was it about to flower .But the normal flower time is the end of the year like fatsia.

Thinking a late one from last year. The weather has been super mild so I guess it's quite unchartered territory for these to keep growing through winter and this is a sign of this.
Re: Tetrapanax
I have an unusual bulge to one of my growing points so I thought mine might flower.
Also mine are just starting to put on growth so I'll soon find out.
