Re: Germinating Schefflera seeds
Well I am curious Kristen, I have very specific Ideas what I like and don't like.
I want
Six Delta Sarah Fuchias
Multitude of Violas
Six Petunias
Lobelia Cascade Mixed
And a center piece for the hanging baskets.
A half - Standard Rose (prolific flowerer) Happy Retirement. I have seen the rose and it flowers all summer long and into the Autumn.
What ya fink Kristen...will they oblige.
Re: Germinating Schefflera seeds
Bottom heat (25C) plus light seems to be optimum for Schefflera germination though they grow fast with just bottom heat in total darkness. I have germination straight from berry within 1 week that way.

Re: Germinating Schefflera seeds
After 1 week I have 3 seeds germinated with bottom heat and light, 2 from bottom heat and no light and nothing from the others. Too early to make a statement though. One seedling looks elongated tbh and may not go on grow on to maturity.Yorkshire Kris wrote:Blairs wrote:Hot water heater thingy. Germinates all my seeds!kata wrote:Thats very quick Blairs,

And without removing the flesh before sowing?
Re: Germinating Schefflera seeds
Just straight into sterile compost (compost and Perlite). I literally put the seeds from the berry into the soil. Seems to work a treat. The soil is quite damp. I cover the pots with cling film and just leave them to it.Yorkshire Kris wrote:And without removing the flesh before sowing?
