Fruit trees
Does anyone have any newly planted fruit trees that seem to have life only in the rootstock ? I have some that seem to be producing only shoots from below the graft. I've cut those shoots all back, but the rest of the tree seems virtually dead - dead branches, few leaves etc. Have the shoots weakened the rest of the tree ? Is it best to just replace them ? I bought the trees from a local market stand so I have no idea of the provenance or the rootstock used. It's affected two peaches a nectarine, a greengage and two apricots.

It happens to my citrus trees: shoots from the rootstock, scion completely dead.

Usually due to graft failure, sometimes it can be canker, not much can be done but to remove and start again unless you can regraft
