Akamba
Re: Akamba
Danny, have a look at the thread called 'best kept secret place for a bargain' and also search for 'creative plants' - they have their contact details on here. It won't be a million miles from you if you're in Brum.
Re: Akamba
There are a lot of places that sell plants but Akamba is in a class of its own.
Re: Akamba
i agree with musa monkey, its one on its own, i find other garden centres boring now, i only go to others for boring things like compost but akamba is fantastic, and there very welcoming and kind , i love it

Akamba is great (but it always pours with rain the minute I reach the carpark!)
And it is quite unique in the way it is more than an exotic plant retailer and almost bordering on an African theme park (and destined to become more so with the new developments they are working on).
There are other very good specialist exotic nurseries too though.
Urban Jungle just outside Norwich has some really good plants and a nice atmosphere -but it is just plants (and a few pots, etc.) not a fully-themed experience like Akamba.

Re: Akamba
Rain's not so bad I suppose - at least it stops when it gets to your skin (otherwise we'd swell up like balloons!)
After getting soaked to the skin there on my way home on Wednesday I found I'd almost dried out by Bury St. Edmunds...

You will Terry, we always have the first meet up there around April time, I hope I can go and it falls on a day off for me, it's just like being in Africa but with out the Lions who would eat you

I think there could well be this year, like I said you could be Mrs Santa and give us all presents, as long as you don't mind us all sitting on your lap
