Props

Post by musa_monkey »

I guess most of us have the standard sankey type props. I also have a couple of reptile heat mats and a sandbox i use in the greenhouse in spring. All used for growing from seed, growing on and even drying out this time of year.

What i dont have is something capable of tropical seed growing temps of circa 35c.
The obvious choice is the bio green heat mat that i know a lot of people here use and i may end up going that route but before i do........

Just curious to know if anyone has used a bio green grand top digital which is basically a smalller version of the jumbo with a digital thermostat.

I have a 4 foot Prop, but I can't remember what manufacturer now. It has a clear flexible acrylic cover and a 60w heater. It is capable of reaching 35C but it is dependent on ambient temperature. As mine was in the conservatory only heated to 6C in coldest weather, I had to insulate the cover with folded up fleece giving 8 layers. I did a big write up on this a couple of years ago, but searches cannot find it, so I presume I wrote it on UKO at the time.

Dave that sounds like the Bio green "Jumbo". which is the big brother of the one i linked to above. I like the idea of a digital thermostat with soil probe and the high top cover so i think i will go for this one form Jungleseeds next week. Will have another go with some banana seed then.
